Braga

Braga, is the capital of the lush region known as the Minho, or Costa Verde (Green Coast). The city is known as the "Portuguese Rome" for its concentration of religious architecture and site of the Festival of St. John.  The city is located in the North of Portugal, the more developed territory, and it’s a commercial and business center. But just east of Braga is one of Portugal's most memorable sites: the Shrine of Bom Jesus do Monte.  Bom Jesus can get crowded on the weekend.
