Oporto Golf Club is an authentic links established in
1890, and is one of the oldest golf courses in continental
Europe. This makes it a club proud of its hallowed traditions.The
course, an authentic links, is relatively short (5,668
metres for a Par 71). Its narrow fairways, together with
the north wind, are the main obstacles, starting out with
a difficult Par 4. In terms of challenging holes, one
cannot forget number 11, a Par 5 of 494 metres, which
together with hole number 4, is considered to be the most
difficult on the course. |

is located within the Quinta da Deveza, near Amarante, where
tradition and magnificent landscapes and scenery abound,
in particular, the River Tamega and the Mountain of Marão.This
is a truly mountainous course as it is 600 meters above
sea level. It has four wtaer hazards and covers an area
of 40 hectares. |

of championship tees for a 71 par, on a course which is

Although there are almost two chances to play each hole,
even the most gifted players will have difficulties if they

of small lakes and natural inlets which make it a very demanding
course to be played with great precision. Most of the holes
are short, except hole 2 which is 329 meters long and is
the only hole where a driver can be used. To complete the
course successfully however, a well controlled short game
and good putting are indispensable. |

of Miramar Golf Club is due to the initiative of Frank Gordon
and the Portuguese Cláudio e Mário Martins. In 1931, they
decided to create a golf club more open to the Portuguese,
who in this way could have easier access to golf. |
